Mayuge District is abuzz with excitement as Peter Tasibula Nkwanga, a seasoned politician and leader who has thrown his hat into the ring for the LC5 chairmanship continues to make inroads.
With a career spanning over three decades, Nkwanga is confident that he is the best candidate to lead Mayuge forward.
As a member of the ‘Uhuru generation’, born in 1962, the year Uganda attained independence from British colonial rule, Peter Tasibula Nkwanga embodies the spirit of freedom and self-determination.
A Proven Track Record.
Peter Tasibula Nkwanga’s credentials are impressive. Born on July 17, 1962, he has dedicated his life to public service, starting as a political mobilizer in the office of the Iganga District Administrator (DA) from 1988 to 1990.
He has since held various leadership positions, including Secretary for Defense in the Resistance Council (RC3) for Imanyiro sub-county, District Councilor for Imanyiro sub-county, and District Vice Chairman (LC5) Mayuge.

Peter Nkwanga’s leadership style is built on integrity, transparency, and teamwork.
He has consistently demonstrated his ability to bring people together and deliver results, as evidenced by his role in restoring sanity in Mayuge during his previous tenure.

When asked about his political and leadership role model, Peter Tasibula Nkwanga readily mentions Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, Uganda’s veteran politician and First Deputy Prime Minister.
He praises Mama Kadaga’s unwavering dedication to humanity, particularly in Busoga saying, “her love for humanity and tireless service to the people of Busoga is unmatched, I draw inspiration from her style, spirit and heart of service beyond self…”.
Personal Life
Peter Tasibula Nkwanga is happily married to Dorothy Nabukeera, and they have eight children and 10 grandchildren. He is a staunch supporter of Chelsea Football Club, affectionately known as the Blues.
