HONOURABLE Florence Mutyabule, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Poverty Alleviation in charge of Busoga, has thrown her weight behind President Yoweri Museveni’s bid for re-election, citing his proven track record of leadership and commitment to peace and stability.

Quoting some experts who once said, ‘…the true test of leadership is not in achieving power but in maintaining peace and stability…,’ Mutyabule said the people of Busoga and Uganda as a whole have enough reasons to vote back Museveni for the sustainable peace and development in the country.

“…Mzee (President) Museveni has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, guiding Uganda through turbulent times and ensuring that our country remains a beacon of peace and stability in the region…”, she campaigned.

Mrs. Mutyabule, who was campaigning for President Museveni and NRM flag bearers, urged residents to remain vigilant and avoid being swayed by opposition rhetoric.

“…We must not be fooled by empty promises and unrealistic expectations,” she said, adding, “President Museveni has delivered on his promises, and we can trust him to continue leading Uganda towards a brighter future.”

During her campaign visits, Mutyabule emphasized the President’s commitment to infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic growth.

“The President’s vision for Uganda is clear,” she said. “He wants to ensure that every Ugandan has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. We must support him to achieve this vision.”

Hon Mutyabule also highlighted the President’s pledge to upgrade several key roads in Namutumba and surrounding districts, including the Nabumali-Namutumba road, Busembatya-Namakoko road, and Kaliro-Namutumba-Mazuba road.

“This is a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to enhancing transport and connectivity in the sub-region,” she said. “We are confident that these roads will open up the area to more economic opportunities and improve the lives of our people.”

Basing her message under the ‘Protecting the Gains’ slogan being used by the NRM in the ongoing campaigns, the Senior Presidential Advisor also commended the President for his efforts in promoting peace and stability in the region. “President Museveni has been a champion of peace and stability in the sub region of 4.5 million people,” she said. “We are grateful for his leadership and commitment to ensuring that Uganda remains a peaceful and stable country.”

Mutyabule concluded by urging residents to vote for President Museveni and NRM flag bearers in the 2026 general elections. “Let us continue to support President Museveni and the NRM,” she said. “Together, we can build a brighter future for Busoga and Uganda.”

Similar campaigns are underway across Busoga, with various NRM stakeholders hitting the ground to drum up support for President Museveni’s re-election bid.

The aim is to ensure a landslide victory in the sub-region, which has traditionally been an NRM stronghold. In the 2021 general elections, the opposition NUP made significant inroads, but this time around, local leaders and stakeholders are putting aside their differences to rally behind the incumbent President.

Business leaders, religious leaders, and cultural icons are all expected to play a crucial role in mobilizing support for Museveni, emphasizing his track record of delivering development and stability to the region.

The ‘Protecting the Gains’ slogan which has aligned well with the people, who are eager to build on the progress made over the years.

As the campaigns intensify the population is already seeing more high-profile NRM officials like the First Deputy Prime Minister/EAC Affairs Minister Rt Hon Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga former Cabinet Minister Hon Daudi Migereko,Hon Princess Persis Namuganza, Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba,Owek Princess Hellen Namutamba and others fanning out across Busoga, touting Museveni’s achievements and urging voters to stick with the devil they know.

With the President’s commitment to infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic growth, the NRM is banking on a strong showing in the sub-region to propel him to victory in the 2026 elections.
