With that framing, Uganda’s Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba made the remark as he welcomed Ethiopian Ambassador Etsegenet Bezabih Yimenu to the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Kampala.

Joined by Political‑Affairs Head Robel Admassu, Defense Attaché Col. Yirga Gebremariam and deputy Col. Tesfaye Guta, Yimenu met Kainerugaba who doubles as the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations for talks billed as proof of “strong and enduring” bilateral ties.

Gen MK as he is fondly called by his peers recalled hosting Ethiopia’s Field Marshal Birhanu Jula in 2024 and said Kampala‑Addis cooperation transcends modern agreements, rooted instead in shared culture and Nile Basin values.

The dynamic senior military officer called that history an “unshakeable foundation” for today’s security and other collaboration.

Ambassador Yimenu thanked the CDF for the warm reception, congratulated President Yoweri Museveni on his reelection, and pledged Ethiopia’s commitment to deepen relations during the next five years.

She praised Kainerugaba’s personal role in nurturing brotherly ties.

Beyond regional security, the two discussed broader mutual interests, underscoring the comprehensive nature of Uganda‑Ethiopia partnership.
