The Uganda Peoples’ Defense Forces (UPDF) donated assorted food items to Muslim communities, among them members of the Al‑Wihida Development Group in Bukesa Katende Zone, Nakulabye, for Eid al‑Fitr that Muslims celebrate globally.

Colonel John Bosco Kalyango, Head of Plans in the Directorate of Civil‑Military Cooperation, delivered the items and urged Muslims to carry the Ramadan spirit of peace beyond the fasting period.

He said the donation followed a request from Hajjat Nakizito Ramulatu, leader of Al‑Wihida Development Group, who asked the UPDF to support her community during Ramadan.

“We welcomed the idea and ensured that the UPDF shares the little it has with the community, as part of our commitment to serve beyond self,” he said.

Hajjat Nakizito commended President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his leadership and for fostering discipline within the UPDF, noting that she was able to access support without difficulty.

She expressed appreciation to Maj Gen Henry Masiko for responding to her request and facilitating the donation.

Residents of Bukesa Katende Zone, Nakulabye, welcomed the support and expressed gratitude to the UPDF for the timely assistance.

The event was attended by UPDF officers and residents.
