From marketplaces to taxi parks, boda-boda stages to radio stations, shops to schools, churches to mosques and across every social media platform, one name is on every lip in Busoga today. Nabirye Faith Magero.

The 22-year-old queen from Nawaikona has captured the heart of the region as she shines bright among the finalists for Miss Uganda 2026.

The elegant, confident and eloquent second year student of Social Work and Social Administration at Kyambogo University has been officially nominated for the coveted national crown, with the grand finale slated for October 10, 2026.

Faith is more than a beautiful face. She is a woman of confidence, intelligence, grace, determination and purpose. Those who have interacted with her describe her as naturally intelligent, amiable and industrious as a bee. Grounded, articulate, respectful and deeply passionate about the girl child.

A Daughter of Busoga, Molded by Uganda.

Born to Mr. Samuel Magero, a well-known Kampala based businessman, and Mrs. Ritah Nerima Magero, a dedicated civil servant, Faith carries the values of hard work, discipline and service.

Being a daughter of a working mother who served in different parts of the country, Faith has had a rich national upbringing. She started and completed her primary education at Mbarara Municipal Primary School in Western Uganda, before joining St Mary’s Rushoroza Secondary School in Kabale District for her O Level.

She later joined the prestigious Standard High School Zzana along Entebbe Road in Wakiso District for her A Level, where she excelled and earned her place at Kyambogo University.

To illustrate her leadership prowess and quality, Faith was elected Head Girl at Standard High School Zzana. A role reserved for students who combine academic excellence, discipline, character and the ability to inspire fellow students. It was an early sign of the leader she was becoming.

The couple hails from Nawaikona, carved from the former Bukonte Sub County, Busembatya, in Namutumba District. She proudly belongs to the powerful and respected clan of Baisemuganza, making her a true daughter of Busoga now carrying the hopes of the entire sub region onto the national stage.

Beyond books, Faith is gifted. Her hobby is music, and on court she is a perfect basketball player. Tall, athletic, graceful and competitive. The very embodiment of beauty with strength.

Beauty With Purpose.

For Faith, Miss Uganda is not just about the crown. It is a platform for purpose.

She dreams of using the Miss Uganda platform to inspire and empower girls to believe in themselves, discover their potential, and confidently pursue their dreams. Her message is simple but powerful. Your dreams are valid and achievable.

At a time when many young girls struggle with self-doubt, peer pressure and lack of role models, Faith wants to be that reminder that a girl from Nawaikona can stand on a national stage and compete with grace and intellect.

As a student of Social Work and Social Administration, her advocacy is not theoretical. She understands community challenges, youth vulnerability and the power of mentorship. She believes beauty must speak, must serve, and must lift others.

Why Busoga Must Rally Behind Her.

The Miss Uganda crown is not won on stage alone. It is won by the people who believe, who vote, and who support their own.

This call has been echoed by the Bukono Chiefdom Prime Minister, Owek. Michael Mwandha, who has urged all Basoga and people in the region to rally behind their daughter, saying charity begins at home.

Owek. Mwandha rooted his appeal in scripture. In Acts Chapter 1 Verse 8, Jesus told His disciples, “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” The message was clear. Start from home. Let Jerusalem see the witness first before Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth can believe.

The same is true for Busoga. If Busoga does not stand with its own daughter, who will? If Nawaikona, Bukonte, Busembatya, Namutumba and Jinja do not lift her first, how will Uganda lift her on October 10?

Nabirye Faith Magero is that rare combination of brains, beauty and humility. She represents the modern Musoga girl. Educated, culturally rooted, confident yet respectful, ambitious yet service driven.

Her journey from the hills of Nawaikona to the lecture halls of Kyambogo University and now to the national beauty stage is a story of determination that deserves to be celebrated in every home.

No wonder she is now the talk of the town. In taxis heading to Iganga, at boda- boda stages in Jinja City, in market stalls in Namutumba, on radio talk shows, in WhatsApp groups and TikTok pages, in churches and mosques, everyone is asking. Have you seen our girl?
